Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
With all the usual media sources pointing to Manu being a replacement for Courtinio, could he do a Payet and leave? Are Liverpool still a big draw for a player or just also-rans as most people outside of Liverpool see them?

The way I see it is that we are FUCKED for creativity if he goes. In fact I'd like to sign a player that compliments him rather than replaces him.

The only thing 'world-class' about the Mickies is in their ability to tap a player up and that's what worries me.

If I've missed a fred which deals with this thorny issue comprehensively please accept my unreserved apologies.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
I doubt Liverpool will match our valuation. I also doubt Lanzini is that desperate to leave right now (though I'm sure he wouldn't turn down a bigger club either). He probably feels he's still learning his trade and has freedom and a regular place here. I think he stays at least another season.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
Still a bigger club than us and in the CL.
With the Spivs at the helm we will never close the gap.
If a big offer came in it's almost inevitable that he will Want to leave and G&S would be happy to cash in.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
They are in the champions league

They have a better stadium

They have better players

They have a better manager

They will also be winning more games then us

They will have £80-100M in their back pocket and will be able to pay him more money

But yeah im not sure why he'd want to leave....

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
loads of liverpool 'fans' on twitter saying they dont want lanzini. shows you how much they know about the game even after he's torn them a new arsehole a few times now.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
This would depress me immensely.

Remember when we had Dimitri Jekyll before he turned into Dimitri Hyde, AND we had Lanzini.

To have lost both of them within a year would be a lot to stomach.

I hope the owners realise how much it would fuck us to let him go, so if he is to go, it has to be for asolute ridiculous money, and if so, we should try to make them wait until the end of the season and not with just over two weeks of the transfer window closing.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
Yeah they could.

All things being equal and they said he'd be a starter there, why wouldn't he have his head turned?

Yes - will be gone within 12 months along with Winston Reid.
Survival on a shoestring, get used to it

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
Even armed with £50M im not sure who id go and get to replace him. Certainly no-one proven in the prem springs to mind

Think that says it all, keep him and build a team around him next couple of seasons

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
Not sure why Barcelona would want Coutinho he's good but not good enough for Barcelona.

Everybody has their price and I'm sure if L'pool put in a decent bid for lanzini wed have to take it!

it would be pretty grim without his creativity in the side but you can't stand in the way of progress.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
I got the impression that Payet was very happy here when he was adored as a big fish...until he felt he could get the same playing with France at the Euros.

So we just need to make sure that Lanzini does not make the Argentine team, especially in a World Cup year.

Simple really.

Yep agreed,. Sad thing is only a couple of years ago with the successful transfer window of 15/16 and the Clubs positive stance on the new stadium they actually had a decent chance to make this Club a quite attractive proposition for very good players to come to and for our best players to stay at. Unfortunately ever since they have made a rights pigs ear of it between them and right now we are nothing more than a mid table side (if lucky) who will struggle to hold onto our better young players if bigger Clubs come in for them.

That's what happens when you put success or failure in the hands of mercenary players each Summer. If we want to be successful we have to build a successful club - you can't buy it with a chequebook.

Payet was happy...until his wife caught him fucking around and moved back to france.

It would seriously hurt to lose him ...

someone else on who stole my thoughts on
Lanzini... with his progress over the last 2 years
this year could and should be his breakout season.

would be absolutely heartwrenching if he lest now.

Re: Could Liverpool actually buy Lanzini?
Chim - definitely

Been saying for a while that I can see Neymar/ Couthino/Lanzini and Wilshire and did so after Neymar was apparently staying

Thats all the work of unsubstantiated, non information, merely the product of an over active intuition

But, the key will be the content of his current contract, buy outs/release clauses etc and how great an influence his advisors are, the ones that moved him the obscurity of the Middle East for money, then to us for more and for some reason, have not signed the new contract we have offered

As grim as all that is, it's worse, I do not trust our lot to do anything but under sell and over buy with the proceeds

Apologies for being quite the dismal minded bastard that I am these days

I wouldn't be shocked if he's been approached. It's how these bigger clubs behave and have done for a while now

Is that right, mate. Didn't know that, hopefully not a bad omen.

it'll be interesting to see how much the porn dwarves will demand. for me he's better than wijnaldum who went for £25m and Lazini's also two years younger

It's sad that we're even talking about AGAIN losing our best player but it will keep happening the bare minimum, zero ambition cunts
